About West Queen West
West Queen West earned its reputation as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world, and the designation was not just marketing. The stretch of Queen Street West from Bathurst to Gladstone is a runway of independent galleries, designer boutiques, vintage shops, and restaurants that have helped define Toronto's creative identity for more than two decades. The Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto (MOCA), housed in the former Tower Automotive building, has become a cultural anchor, while the Gladstone Hotel and the Drake Hotel remain ground zero for the city's art-and-design scene. Beyond the commercial strip, the neighbourhood's residential streets are a mix of Victorian row houses, converted lofts, and newer condominiums that have brought density to the area. Trinity Bellwoods Park sits at the eastern edge, and the rail corridor provides an unexpectedly green buffer to the south.
