Runnymede-Bloor West Village

Family-first village life on Bloor's beloved west stretch

About Runnymede-Bloor West Village

Runnymede-Bloor West Village is one of Toronto's most cherished family neighbourhoods, a district where strollers crowd the sidewalks, local shopkeepers know your name, and the annual Toronto Ukrainian Festival transforms Bloor Street into a celebration of the area's deep Eastern European roots. The commercial strip along Bloor between Jane and Runnymede is a textbook example of what a main street should be: butcher shops, bookstores, independent toy stores, and restaurants that have been feeding the neighbourhood for decades. South of Bloor, the residential streets are lined with well-maintained Edwardian and Arts-and-Crafts-style homes, many with generous front porches and mature gardens. High Park is just a short walk to the east, giving residents access to one of the city's flagship greenspaces. Runnymede station and Jane station on Line 2 bookend the neighbourhood, making the commute downtown painless. This is a neighbourhood that has figured out the formula for village life within a big city.
