Morningside

Where Scarborough Meets the Rouge Valley

About Morningside

Morningside is a spacious, nature-rich neighbourhood in east Scarborough that benefits from its proximity to some of Toronto's most significant green spaces. The neighbourhood sits along Morningside Avenue between Lawrence and Ellesmere, with the Highland Creek ravine system cutting through its western portions and the edges of the Rouge River valley defining its eastern boundary. Residential streets feature a mix of 1970s and 1980s subdivisions with detached homes, townhouses, and low-rise apartments. The University of Toronto Scarborough campus sits on the neighbourhood's southern edge, bringing a student population and academic energy to the area. Morningside Park is a local gem, offering extensive trails through deep ravines, sports fields, and a sense of wilderness that belies its suburban surroundings. The neighbourhood's diversity is evident in its strip mall restaurants, where you can find excellent Sri Lankan, Afghan, and Vietnamese food within a few blocks. Morningside is for those who value nature access and space over urban density.
