St.Andrew-Windfields

North Toronto's elite enclave of estates and equestrian roots

About St.Andrew-Windfields

St. Andrew-Windfields is one of Toronto's most exclusive residential neighbourhoods, a district of expansive estate homes set on oversized lots in the heart of North York. The Windfields area takes its name from the famous Windfields Farm, once the breeding ground for Northern Dancer and other champion thoroughbreds. That equestrian heritage lingers in the neighbourhood's generous setbacks, paddock-sized lawns, and winding roads that feel more country lane than city street. The homes here are among the most valuable in the city, ranging from mid-century estates to custom-built modern mansions, many hidden behind hedges and wrought-iron gates. The neighbourhood is served by some of Toronto's most prestigious private schools, including the Toronto French School and Crestwood Preparatory College. The Bridle Path, which runs through the area, is legendary for its mega-mansions. Despite the exclusivity, residents are well-served by transit on Bayview Avenue and Sheppard Avenue, and the area offers easy access to the Sunnybrook Park trail system.
