Affordable northwest living along the Humber River
Pelmo Park-Humberlea is a modest residential neighbourhood in northwest Toronto, bordered by the Humber River to the east and the commercial bustle of Albion Road to the north. The housing stock is primarily post-war bungalows and backsplits on wide lots, with a smattering of newer townhouse developments filling in former industrial parcels. It is an area where driveways hold well-used pickup trucks and backyard vegetable gardens are a common sight. The Humber River corridor is the neighbourhood's greatest natural asset, offering trails, fishing spots, and a riparian landscape that turns brilliant in autumn. Albion Road provides shopping essentials, from grocery stores to dollar shops, while Woodbine Mall and Fantasy Fair to the south offer a larger retail destination. The area has a working-class backbone and a multicultural population that includes significant South Asian, Latin American, and Italian communities, all of whom contribute to the neighbourhood's unpretentious and welcoming character.
