Corso Italia-Davenport is a west-end neighbourhood that pulses with the energy of one of Toronto's most enduring immigrant communities. The Corso Italia strip — St. Clair Avenue West between Lansdowne and Dufferin — is the neighbourhood's beating heart, a boulevard of Italian cafes, gelaterias, trattorias, and fashion boutiques that has served the community since the postwar wave of Italian immigration to Toronto. During World Cup soccer, the strip transforms into one giant outdoor celebration, drawing fans from across the city. South of St. Clair, the neighbourhood transitions into Davenport, where the streets grow narrower and the housing more compact — semi-detached Victorians, duplexes, and small detached homes that reflect the area's working-class roots.
